【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesthegraphiccharacterrepertoiresandtheirsingle-bytecoding,whichareavailableforuseforinformationinterchangebetweeninformationprocessingsystemsandforusewithinsuchsystems,inthescriptsthatarecommonlyusedbythemembersofCEN/CENELECandtheInstitutionsoftheEuropeanUnionandtheEuropeanFreeTradeAssociation.ThisEuropeanStandarddoesnotspecifytheinterchangeofinformationusingatelematicservice.Thecharacterrepertoireandthecodingusedbyatelematicservicearedefinedbythespecificationofthatservice.ThetransmissionofinformationbasedonthespecificationsofthisEuropeanStandardusingatelematicservicemaynecessitateanadaptationofthenumberofcharactersofarepertoire(repertoiretransformationfunction)orachangetothecoding(codetransformationfunction).
